Canada has now returned to the regular all-program draws after conducting program-specific draws for a few months due to the implementation of travel restrictions.
The Latest Express Entry Draw has welcomed 4,500 candidates to submit an application for PR in Canada. This is for the second time that Canada has issued the largest number of invitations since February. In the last three all-program draws, Canada has issued 4,200 invitations in each draw.
The Comprehensive Ranking System score required to be invited by the IRCC was 471. In the previous draw too, the cut-off CRS score was 471 only. So, the invitations issued have increased by 300 in this latest draw but the CRS score required has remained the same.
CRS score is calculated on the basis of a number of factors such as age, work experience, education Canadian certificate of education, Canadian work experience, and language proficiency.
IRCC uses the tie-break rule in order to rank candidates with the same CRS score. For this latest express entry draw, IRCC has invited candidates who have submitted their profile before September 1, 2020, at 12:11:23 UTC. So, candidates with a CRS score of 471 and higher and who have submitted their profile before this tie-break date received an invitation.
The CRS score has oscillated above 470 for all program Express Entry Draws this year. In the previous express entry draw, the CRS score was 471 and it has remained the same in this newest draw as well.
The IRCC held a draw for the Federal Skilled Trades Program only in August. Immigration candidates received invitations with a CRS score of just 415.
Further, the CRS score dropped to 440s for the Canadian Experience Class Program draws. This was a good opportunity for CEC candidates to apply for Canada PR.
To be eligible for permanent residence, a candidate has to submit his profile to a pool of candidates. Based on that profile, Candidates are awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System score. And this score is the determining factor to secure permanent residence.
With this new draw, the total number of invitations issued so far in 2020 has reached to 82,850. This year seems to be a record-breaking one for Express Entry, as the IRCC has issued the highest number of ITAs compared to the other years.
The Immigration Minister will announce new admission targets for immigrants by October end. This will be a three-year Immigration Levels Plan (2021-23). Canada might set higher targets for the upcoming years as it plans to admit more immigrants through the Express Entry.
