Details have been released by the Quebec immigration department about the Arima Draw that was held on Aug 19th this year. It invited 502 potential candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence in the country.
The MIFI integrated the 502 invitations under the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (QSWP).
Only those who have registered their Expression of Interest (EOI) in Quebec’s Arrima e-portal will be eligible for this program.
What is an Expression of Interest?
An EOI is an application that has to submit before the screening process even begins. It permits Quebec to choose among those candidates who are keen on immigrating to the province. The Quebec department of immigration then sends invitations to them to submit their application.
As there are needs in the labour market of Quebec, the invitations are sent accordingly. Quebec in the recent draw invited those who have a minimum score of 548.
Quebec strategically sent invitations according to its labour market needs. The criteria are as follows; the candidate’s least minimum score should be 548. Their occupation must be listed under the targeted jobs, as well as must be under National Occupational Classification (NOC) code listed below:

- Industrial and manufacturing engineers (NOC 2141);
- Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers) (NOC 2147);
- Information systems analysts and consultants (NOC 2171);
- Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172);
- Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
- Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174);
- Web designers and developers (NOC 2175);
- Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians (NOC 2241);
- Computer network technicians (NOC 2281);
- User support technicians (NOC 2282);
- Information systems testing technicians (NOC 2283);
- Producers, directors, choreographers, and related occupations (NOC 5131);
- Graphic arts technicians (NOC 5223);
- Graphic designers and illustrators (NOC 5241);
- Technical sales specialists – wholesale trade (NOC 6221).
It has been the seventh draw in the Quebec province since the start of this year, additionally, a total of 1,562 invitations have been sent for permanent residency.
