Know about the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program
Like every province, the western province of Canada, Alberta has its own nominee program – Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program. Through this program, the province invites skilled candidates who meet the skills and work experience required by the province’s labor market. And the invitees become eligible to get an Alberta provincial nomination certificate.Candidates are selected through the following streams of the AINP
- Alberta Express Entry Stream
- Alberta Opportunity Stream
- Alberta Self-Employed Farmer Stream
Alberta Express Entry Stream
The Express Entry stream of the AINP is one of the easiest ways to get invited by Alberta. The Express Entry stream works on an invitation basis only. A candidate cannot apply to the program directly. It is imperative to have a profile in the Express Entry system. All those candidates who have their profiles in the federal Express Entry pool are systematically selected for the AINP and given invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. Once, a candidate is invited by the province of Alberta, he/she can apply to the IRCC for Canadian permanent residence. The candidates in the Express Entry can apply through one of the three economy class programs: Federal Skilled Trades, Federal Skilled Worker, and Canadian Experience Class. Alberta wants those express entry candidates who are working in a profession that will help the province in the “economic development”. Each province has its own labor market requirements to sustain its economy. Thus, it prefers to select candidates with the right skills required to have economic progress.The AINP prefers candidates who have:
- a job offer in Alberta;
- genuine work experience;
- a degree from a Canadian post-secondary academic institution;
- a parent, child or sibling living in Alberta
