On November 25th, the province of Saskatchewan introduced a new immigration pilot program.
The program is named as Hard-To-Fill Skills Program and it enables international skilled professionals to find a job in Saskatchewan in-demand job profile in the region. The recruiters in Saskatchewan with the help of this program will hire professionals at the entry-level profiles that might require some training.
Saskatchewan has the most labor demand in industry sectors like- agriculture, health, manufacturing, ag-tech, hospitality, retail, construction, and manufacturing.
The Immigration and Career Training Minister, Jeremy Harrison states that there are many economic projects that will make the industry of Saskatchewan strong and reliable. The in-demand labor is soaring high in the province currently.
The newly introduced program shall give recruiters a chance to call aboard the talent across overseas and employ them. He also added that investing in the training and upgrading the skills of the labor class of the province will result in strong growth right after the global pandemic.
The pilot program is said to be launched starting December 2021. The professionals who are chosen considering the SINP, Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program will be backed up by their recruiters and community.
Jim Bence, the Hospitality President, and the CEO throw emphasis on how it is affirmative news for all the businesses in the hospitality department. He also says that the program is beneficial for the sectors, especially those who are facing major labor crises. He appreciates that the pilot program will deal with attracting suitable professionals internationally and will efficiently prosper the economy of the province. He pointed out that on one hand the recruiters in the province will strive really hard to search for talent regionally but being creative and accepting the perfect candidate for outside means opening new aspects and it will definitely help the province to prosper and grow in community and in the economy. The program overall brings out more benefits since it has been launched after the COVID-19 pandemic too.
In order to be enabled to be accepted into this program the potential candidates are required to adhere to these conditions and guidelines:
- Must have the ability to pass the least language proficiency level according to Canadian standards.
- Should have a SINP job approved letter, a full-time permanent job offer, and a valid job profile under a recruiter of Saskatchewan.
- Must hold a valid degree of education and work experience of six months or more in the same job profile that you will be recruited for in Saskatchewan.
With the given details that have been received, there is no disclosure of the occupations that will be eligible. The minimum educational requirement is not mentioned too, also the exact level of language proficiency.
On the other hand, those who want to employ are required to exhibit that they have first tried to intake local talent, and only on failing, they are seeking help from the pilot program. With this, they will also need to prove the need of their company or the organization that will issue settlement support for their employees. The specifications have not yet been announced.
