After experiencing a record-breaking year for the Express Entry Immigration System in 2020, Canada is favorably moving towards 2021. It has recently held its first draw of the new year by inviting candidates belonging to the Provincial Nominee Program.
Canada issued a large number of invitations in the last few months of the previous year. It has now conducted a program-specific draw. The IRCC has issued invitations to 250 candidates having a Comprehensive Ranking System score of 813 and above.
Immigration candidates who are already nominated by a province through an express entry aligned stream have 600 additional points. Therefore, the cut-off CRS score is higher in PNP-specific express entry draws.
Also, as per the tie-breaking rule, candidates who have submitted their profiles before November 2, 2020, at 11:11:52 UTC have received invitations by the IRCC in this draw.
Canada has raised the immigration targets for the year 2021 as it aims to welcome more permanent residents in the upcoming years to support economic growth. Thus, it is expected that the IRCC will invite nearly 108,500 new permanent residents through Express Entry this year.
It can be rightly said that this is the best time for all those who want to immigrate to Canada as permanent residents. So, if you are interested in moving to Canada, you should prepare yourself for the process and collect all the required documents.
