On September 7th, the province of Alberta sent out 500 invitations to Express Entry candidates.
August itself had two huge draws, but Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) is the largest draw the province has ever witnessed. The last record was set in March 2019 with 4773 invited candidates.
The criteria are that each invited candidate must have a score of a minimum of 300 to be able to qualify for the Alberta Express Entry Stream.
Provincial nomination invitation rounds were resumed this year in January. It had paused for a while in 2020. Currently, Alberta can issue 6,250 nomination certificates in the current year.
About Alberta Express Entry Stream
The Alberta Express Entry Stream enables the provincial government to choose potential candidates from the Express Entry Pool. Provincial Nominee Program umbrellas this stream.
The Federal High Skilled programs come under the Express Entry System. They are known as the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Federal Skilled Workers Program.
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a score provider that decides your eligibility. The parameters of the score are based on education, age, work experience, language proficiency for English and French, etc.
Canada’s legal immigration department is called Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). IRCC only invites candidates with the highest score to apply for permanent residence through regularly holding Express Entry draws.
It is not necessary to have a provincial nomination to immigrate to Canada through Express Entry System. People who have a lower CRS choose the PNP pathway. You must know that as a provincial nominee, you will straight away get 600 points added to your laying score. The minimum CRS score should be 901 to be able to receive the nomination for the new Alberta Draw. A score of 901 is more than the required score that would fetch a subsequent Express Entry Draw.
Eligibility for the Alberta Express Entry Stream?
Your invitation depends upon your work experience in a reputable occupation through the Alberta Express Entry Stream. Unlike other Programs, the AINP does not have a list of eligible occupations but publishes some occupations that may not be eligible for the stream.
A lot of foodservice providers, transport truck drivers, and cooks apply for this stream.
Your profile should reflect that you are interested to move to Alberta. There are some factors set that could increase the chances of your getting nominated. If you have received your education in Canada or you have a blood relative living in Canada as a permanent resident already will proportionally strengthen your application.
