Can I apply for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program?

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program has under it 3 categories. Each category has streams under it. To apply for citizenship and immigration to Canada and permanent residence in Ontario using these programs, you must qualify for at least one of the streams. This may be your chance to fulfill your dream of living in Canada and gaining Canadian citizenship. There are streams specifically designed for international students and foreign workers. The categories, their streams, and the qualification criteria of these are discussed below.

Employer job offer category

To qualify for this stream, you must have an offer for an occupation to work full time in Ontario once you immigrate from a qualifying employer. The following are the streams under this category.

1. Foreign Worker Stream:

If you are a foreign worker and have a job offer from a qualifying employer that comes under skill type 0, A, or B, you can apply for permanent residence in Canada under this stream. You can apply to live permanently in Ontario province in Canada if you are a temporary foreign worker either inside or outside Canada. The application is online, and if you are nominated by this program, you are invited to apply for citizenship and permanent residence in Canada via the IRCC

2. International Student Stream

If you are an international student with a job offer from a qualifying employer that falls under skill type 0, A, or B, this stream is your chance for immigration and citizenship in Canada. You can apply to work and live permanently in Ontario. If you are an international student who has been living in or outside of Canada, you can apply for permanent residence through this stream. This will be very helpful to you in getting a job in Canada.

3. In-Demand Skills stream

This store is for you if you are a foreign worker with a job offer from a qualifying employer to work in Canada in the province of Ontario. The job offer must be in occupations that are in-demand, such as agriculture, construction, trucking, and personal work. If you are a foreign worker who’s been living in or outside of Canada, this may be your chance to gain Canadian permanent residency.

Human capital category

To qualify for this category, you must meet the required educational, language, and work experience qualifications. This has two subcategories.

1. International Graduates

The Master’s Graduate Stream:

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) — If you wish to immigrate to the province of Ontario and get a permanent residency as well as citizenship of Canada, we might have just the program for you.

If you are an international graduate with educational qualifications equivalent to a master’s degree in Ontario, applying under this stream can give you a chance to live permanently in Canada and even apply for citizenship. Human Capital Priorities stream

If you are a foreign worker with the required educational qualifications, work experience, and language skills, this stream is your chance to gain permanent residence and citizenship in Canada and work in Ontario. To apply, an online Express Entry profile is a must-have and the profile should be in the inactive state. After receiving a Letter of Interest, you are nominated to apply for permanent residence through this stream.

Skilled Trades stream

If you are a foreign national, have the skills that fill the gap in Ontario’s labour market, and the required work experience, you can apply under this stream to secure permanent residence and citizenship in Canada and work in Ontario. To apply, an online Express Entry profile is a must-have and the profile should be in the inactive state. After receiving a Letter of Interest, you are nominated to apply for permanent residence through this stream.

Business Category

This category has just one stream under it, the Entrepreneur Stream. You must be an eligible business person and wish to own a business in Ontario or looking to acquire an existing business.

The Entrepreneur Stream

If you are an entrepreneur working outside Canada and wish to start your own new business in Ontario, this is the stream for you. You must have a very keen and sincere interest in starting a business or acquiring an existing one in Ontario. You can also bring with you, one foreign national business partner under this stream if you are nominated. You will have a chance to live in Canada and establish your own business in the province of Ontario. Apart from Ontario, the other provinces such as British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Alberta, Yukon, Prince Edward Island, and Saskatchewan, all have their own provincial nominee programs. If Ontario isn’t the province for you, you can check the eligibility criteria of the streams of programs of all these provinces. The province of Quebec has a different program to nominate applicants for Canadian citizenship and a resident visa or permanent Canadian residency. Choose wisely.
